File Transfer Protocol, or FTP, represents one of the most widespread methods for transmitting web files between a PC and a server. Using FTP software such as FileZilla, you can connect to your website hosting account and drag & drop files or whole folders in both directions and the software itself will handle all the rest. There’re several pluses of employing File Transfer Protocol, including the option to restart an upload/download in case there is some problem with the FTP connection and the possibility to use different FTP accounts. With the latter option, you can create FTP users that can access only particular folders in your web hosting account, but no other folders, e-mail accounts or any other information, which makes it the best option especially when you have to give a web designer access, for example. You can also use an FTP account with popular website building applications such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver and upload the websites that you’ve created straight from them, without having to use any third-party software.

FTP Accounts in Shared Web Hosting

Our shared web hosting plans will allow you to create numerous FTP accounts with only several clicks of the mouse through the Hepsia Control Panel and to choose what files and folders each account can access. There’s no upper limit on the maximum number of accounts that you’re allowed to create, so you’ll be able to have as many as you need at any given moment. In case you would not like to use a particular FTP account anymore or in case a web designer has done their task and you don’t want them to access your website content anymore, you can simply delete the account in question. The Control Panel’s FTP section will permit you to see all currently existing FTP accounts listed in alphabetical order, along with various options, which you can access with a single click. You’ll be able to change the access path and the password, to download an auto-config file, etc. We also have elaborate help tutorials, which will help you administer your FTP accounts in case you experience any complication.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your websites under a semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to set up a separate FTP account for each one of them, since we have not restricted this functionality with any of our packages. You can do this through the FTP section of our intuitive Hepsia Control Panel where you can also see the full list of all the accounts that you’ve created, together with the folder that each one can connect to. If needed, you’ll be able to update the password for a certain FTP account or to edit its access path with a couple of mouse clicks. You can also delete an account without effort if you do not require it any longer – for example, if you have hired a web designer who’s finished with the site and you don’t want them to be able to connect to your web files anymore. For your convenience, we’ve made a number of instructional video clips, which will help you administer your FTP accounts with ease if you have never used a hosting plan previously.

FTP Accounts in VPS Servers

None of the VPS servers offered by our company has a limit on the number of FTP accounts that you can manage at any moment, so you can create a separate FTP account for each site hosted on your server, no matter if it’s under a domain or sub-domain. It also does not matter which hosting Control Panel you’ll choose when you sign up – DirectAdmin, cPanel or Hepsia, as an FTP server will be set up on the VPS at the time of the installation of any of them. If you want different people to establish a connection to the very same folder using their own set of login credentials, for example, it’ll take several mouse clicks to set up a different FTP account for each one of them. Deleting an existing account or modifying the directory that it can connect to is just as easy and you will not encounter any impediment, even if you don’t have any prior experience in such matters.
